In a dominant display, England clinched one more win against Albania, featuring several players delivering notable displays throughout the game.

First-choice Eleven

The goalkeeper Was rarely tested to perform in the first half but then forced to intervene from an opponent's curled attempt. A sliding tackle against Qazim Laci showed his game intelligence. 6/10

The debutant Tested by the opposition's primary attacker through Hoxha. Started more centrally initially but moved out wide once Saka entered the fray. Seven

John Stones Advanced up the pitch on the ball, a familiar role before. Sometimes seemed hesitant when carrying play and the tactic abandoned by the interval. Six

The tall defender Always dangerous on corners and free-kicks, typically, but may be a replacement for Stones at the back as opposed to paired with him. One wayward pass in the second half almost led to a goal from the visitors. 6

The young full-back A further composed performance by the youngster after his initial appearance versus another side. A teammate failed to make the opportunity from an exquisite touch behind the Albania defence. The left-back spot is his to lose so soon. 7

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning with the national team. Somewhat sloppy on the ball but his dangerous set-pieces posed a danger. A useful pace-controller available to the boss to call upon versus sides that sit back. Booked for a rash challenge. 6

Declan Rice Set-pieces on corner kicks and set-plays caused problems. Enjoyed room to drift on the left but was offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Granted a deserved break around the 60-minute point. 6

The star midfielder Operated in a forward role down the right and also put in the hard yards. Demonstrated glimpses of brilliance but scuffed an attempt high. Substituted late on by a teammate, his competition, following a yellow card. Seven

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with England’s top opening in the opening period, his effort excellently kept out by the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate staying deep, it fell to him to provide width down the right side yet his deliveries from the touchline varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. 6/10

Harry Kane The decisive figure with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth strikes in an England shirt. The first a trademark close-range tap-in and his next an excellent headed goal after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he’s only getting better and England have every chance next summer with him up top. Eight

The attacker Found it tough to influence play on the left flank. Had a good opening when set up by the midfielder however Strakosha kept it out. His replacement made much more of influence when substituted. 5
