Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Basque side in domestic competition 30 months following their departure for construction to commence.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold almost 105,000 spectators, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch on 7 November. The club said approval is being pursued by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
