Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Lagos Following Fatal Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople announced on Wednesday night. The fighter was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two close friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the sports world shared its support for the champion in the following the devastating accident.
